1785 In their first test, the fire engines newly arrived from Europe show they can shoot a stream of water over the highest roof in Salem, North Carolina.
1798 The site is staked out for the Salem church, now known as Home Moravian Church.
1930 Macedonia’s third place of worship, a brick church, is consecrated.
