Archives Sunday 2024 is April 28 and the Archives Needs Your Help!

The Provincial Elders Conference, Southern Province, has designated the last Sunday of April each year as Moravian Archives Sunday. On April 28 this year, the churches of the Southern Province have been asked to provide special emphasis for the Moravian Archives during worship and to provide information about the Archives in its church bulletins and newsletters.

On this emphasis Sunday, members of our Southern Province churches are asked to support the Archives with their financial contributions and their prayers! If you have not yet made a contribution to this valuable repository of information about our church, we encourage you to do so by this emphasis Sunday. And if you have already made a contribution, please consider additional support! The Archives’ $300,000 annual budget is funded primarily by the churches of the Southern Province, as well as Salem Congregation and contributions of individual donors.

Your contribution will go directly to supporting the ongoing and increasing costs of collection management, including cataloging, processing and description, preservation and conservation, digitization and reformatting, and storage and maintenance. Archivist, Meaghan O’Riordan, is working hard to make our centuries-old collections accessible to and known by the 21st century audience, and we hope you will consider helping to make that possible today!
