Salem and Wachovia History Resources
- Old Salem Museums & Gardens The restoration organization, through its Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts, houses a research library on residents of Salem and artisans throughout the South, and publishes an online research journal. Old Salem has also done extensive research on African-Americans of the area.
- Salem College The college maintains its own archive, including records on those who attending the Female Boarding School going back to 1804.
- Wachovia Historical Society Its mission is “the collection, preservation, and dissemination of everything relating to the history, antiquities, and literature of the Moravian Church in the South.”
Moravian and Moravian History Resources
- Moravian Archives, Herrnhut, Germany Founded in 1764, the Unity Archives is the official repository for the central institutions of the worldwide Moravian Church.
- Moravian Archives, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Our Northern Province Archives holds records of Moravian churches north and west of Virginia, and is a noted center for academic studies of Moravian life.
- Moravian Theological Seminary The link here is to a “basic bibliography” works on church history, that also includes non-English and unpublished sources, and some web links.
- Moravian Music Foundation Our Davis Center housemates collect, recover, preserve, and disseminate the rich musical culture of Moravians.
- Moravian Archives Network This is a gateway portal to records held at Moravian Archives around the world.
- Center for Moravian Studies The Center promotes the study of the history, theology, and mission of the Moravian Church (Unitas Fratrum) by serving as a link for scholars, research institutions, and resources.
- Moravian Church in North America, Board of Cooperative Ministries Resource List This is a 2015 review of publications and web links on the current church, with some history.
