Using the Archives
The Moravian Archives in Winston-Salem provides a variety of services for researchers, including but not limited to:
- In-Person Appointments and Remote Research Assistance: Researchers who would like assistance with specific inquiries about our holdings, information gathering, references to holdings in other facilities, and other requests may make an in-person appointment by completing the Researcher Appointment Request Form or can contact the Archives Staff for remote research requests. Please keep in mind that in-person appointment requests must be submitted three business days in advance of your visit. More information can be found on the Requesting a Research Visit Page.
- Reprographic Services: Researchers may request reproductions of materials in the Moravian Archives for their research. Photocopies, Digital Images, and Audiovisual materials can be requested by completing the Image Reproduction and Permissions Order Form. These can be sent electronically or by mail.
- Genealogical and Family History Research: Those who are interested in researching regional families may browse the Memoir Collection Index. To learn more or receive a digital copy of specific memoir(s), please complete the Request a Memoir form. Additionally, the Reading Room Library contains approximately 165 genealogical studies of regional families. More information can be found on The Genealogy Bookshelves Page.
